The 33rd Annual Critical Issues Conference held September 22, 2025 at the Tahoe Blue Event Center was nothing short of extraordinary — a sold-out gathering of business, government, and community leaders from across Douglas County and throughout Nevada, all united by a shared commitment to strengthen our region through collaboration, innovation, and action.
From the moment doors opened for breakfast and early networking, the energy in the room was electric. Leaders connected, ideas flowed freely, and conversations quickly turned toward solving real-world challenges and creating forward-looking solutions that benefit our community.
The conference featured powerful sessions addressing the most pressing issues facing our region, including updates on Nevada’s economic and political landscape, legislative priorities for 2025, community mental health partnerships, regional resiliency, federal policy insights, and candid C-suite perspectives. The Douglas County Spotlight Awards further highlighted the innovation, partnership, cultural stewardship, and philanthropy that make our community thrive.
Throughout the day, this was more than a conference — it was a working forum. Panels sparked thoughtful dialogue, networking breaks turned into brainstorming sessions, and leaders from diverse sectors leaned in with a shared purpose: to move ideas into action.
None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our sponsors. We extend our deepest gratitude to the businesses and organizations who invested in this event and in our community. Your partnership, leadership, and commitment make it possible to convene this level of dialogue, bring diverse voices to the table, and ensure the Critical Issues Conference remains a cornerstone event for Douglas County and Nevada. Your support truly fuels progress.
As the day concluded, one message was clear: when leadership comes together with intention and collaboration, meaningful solutions follow. The momentum created at this year’s conference will continue to shape conversations, decisions, and outcomes long after the room cleared.
Thank you to our speakers, attendees, volunteers, and — most importantly — our sponsors for making this remarkable day possible every year. Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient future for Douglas County and beyond.
